## Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
### What is a Twitch stream key and why do I need it?
A stream key is a secret code that authorizes your broadcasting software (OBS, Streamlabs, etc.) to send your video feed to your Twitch channel.

### Is it safe to show or share my stream key?
No - treat your stream key like a password. Anyone who has it can stream content on your channel. If you suspect it’s been exposed, reset it immediately.

### How do I reset or regenerate my Twitch stream key?
On the same page where you view your stream key (Creator Dashboard → Settings → Stream), there’s a “Reset” button. Clicking it generates a new key and invalidates the old one.

### Why can’t I see my stream key on mobile?
The Twitch mobile app does not show the stream key. Use a web browser on desktop or mobile (in desktop mode) to access your Creator Dashboard.

### Do I need a new stream key every time I stream?
No - your stream key stays the same until you manually reset it.

### What happens if I reset my password or enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
Resetting your Twitch password or enabling 2FA does not automatically reset your stream key, but if you suspect a security breach, it’s good practice to reset the key too.

### I can’t find the “Stream” option in my Creator Dashboard — what do I do?
Make sure you are in the Creator Dashboard, not the regular Twitch view. Expand the menu under Settings → Stream. If it’s missing, try another browser, clear cache, or check if your account is restricted.

### I see “Stream Key & Preferences” - which key do I use?
Use the Primary Stream Key. If you see multiple keys, the primary one is the correct option for streaming.

### I clicked “Show” to reveal the stream key, but I don’t see anything - what’s wrong?
You may need to confirm a warning about revealing sensitive information. Update your browser and check if extensions or blockers are interfering.

### I reset my stream key, but my streaming software still doesn’t connect - why?
After resetting, you must update the new key in your streaming software (OBS, Streamlabs, etc.). The old key will no longer work.

### I’m using Upstream to stream to Twitch - do I enter the stream key on Upstream?
Yes, when linking Twitch via RTMP in Upstream, paste your Twitch stream key into the field in the Stream Settings.

### Can I allow others to stream to my channel without giving them my key?
Yes - Twitch lets you grant temporary streaming permissions to others without sharing your stream key. This can be managed in your settings.

### My stream key field is blank or missing. What should I do?
Try resetting your stream key. If it’s still missing, check account eligibility, use a different browser, or contact Twitch support.

### I suspect someone used my stream key - how can I tell?
Look for streams or content you didn’t start. Reset your stream key, change your password, and check your account security settings immediately.
