How to Run a Video Through Handbrake.fr

Handbrake.fr is a re-encoding software in which you select a video or a folder of videos which you want to re-encode from one format to another. This is sometimes necessary, when your current video has playback issues, or when the format of the video you have is not supported on Upstream. Doing this ensures your videos will play smoothly on Upstream.

1. Download and install Handbrake.fr from their website or by clicking here

Clicking on the download button will start the download process right away - click on the downloaded file and install it on your system.

2. Launch Handbrake.fr from your Applications folder, or run the shortcut on your desktop if its been created.

3. Click on "Open Source" at the top left corner

This will open up your file explorer, select the video from there.

4. Select the correct preset

Under "Preset" go to General, then click on the "Fast 1080p30" preset.

5. Click on "Start"

6. Your file has been processed, you can find it in the location specified in the software.
