Account not Eligible to Stream to YouTube - First Ever Live Stream

If you see a message that you are not Eligible to Stream to YouTube while creating a stream - do not worry! All you need to do is to request access to live streaming via studio.youtube.com, verify your phone number, and wait 24 hours.


If you see this warning - do not worry, it only means you have to verify your account on YouTube.

Account not Eligible for Live Streaming


When creating your first stream, you may get this warning / error. This means you have never started a live stream before on that account. This is very easy to resolve and it only takes a few clicks + mandatory 24 hours waiting time (this is YouTube's own policy / protection).


To verify your account for Live Streaming:


  1. Go to studio.youtube.com,
  2. Click on +Create and GoLive,
  3. A verification screen will guide you (verify with your phone number),
  4. Wait 24 hours.


Do not worry! You can stream in 24 hours!


Once you complete these steps and verify with your phone, a 24-hour countdown will appear. You just need to wait it out - this can not be expedited.


If you want to check your eligibility for Live Streaming, you can go to studio.youtube.com and click on Settings --> Channel --> Feature Eligibility. You can also start the process from that screen (click on verify Phone number).
